Youth Leadership Conferences
Mission

The Youth Leadership Conferences have been designed to be intensive, intellectually challenging sessions to stimulate thinking about yourself, your life, and your country. In order for you and your peers to gain the most from this experience, please keep in mind the following:

  • ALL SESSIONS MUST BE ATTENDED - NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Be willing to learn and share experiences.
  • Respect the rights of others.
  • You must remain with and work with your group.
  • You may not change dorm rooms with anyone.
  • You may not leave the campus of Florida State University or Florida Institute of Technology In except with your group when approved by conference staff.

Remember that for every right you have as a conference participant, you have an equal responsibility to the Youth Leadership Foundation, your sponsor, our host, and to the other participants.

Inasmuch as this is a program for leadership oriented "young adults," we have found challenging speakers. Each speaker is given 30-40 minutes and will look forward to a question and answer session or a group discussion following their talk.

Additional activities will include meeting new people with interesting and diverse points of view from various parts of the Southeastern United States. Some of those activities include participating in group discussions, social mixers, flag ceremonies, and a talent show.

Upon return to your home community, we expect you to discuss your experiences at the Conference with your sponsoring organization and your school. They will be interested in learning about how your life has changed as a result of participating in this advanced leadership program. We strongly suggest you prepare a "Thank You" note and present it to your sponsor.
